The Confetti Battleon Wednesday was a big hit (as it is every year), with hundreds turning up at the Market Place in Devizes to throw small pieces of brightly coloured paper at friends and family - and quite often complete strangers! The family atmosphere is unique to this event and it brought all generations out for a lively evening.
The Devizes International Street Festival brought thousands onto the streets to sample great acts such as the wonderful Herbie Treehead whose act involved his stripping to the waist (nice belly action Herbie), a long metal chain and a straitjacket (but not babywipes...). If you missed it then you MUST come next year to experience the diversity and quality of this great August Bank Holiday event!
The Corn Exchange in Devizes was host to an exciting array of talent for Variety in the Corn last Sunday, where all who saw it marvelled at night juggling which melded human skill with computerised effects in specially designed torches.
You just have to listen to the comments as people left after the show to know that you really should have been there.
The Carnival programme is now on sale.
